Running approximately 75 mi (120 km) through Colorado's northern Rockies, Top of The Rockies Byway is on of 53 nationally recognized drives. While on the minimum two-hour drive, explore the numerous historic sites, scenic vies, hiking trails, lakes and unique communities found along the way. Be prepared for any weather as the higher elevation causes quick fluctuations. The road runs from Copper Mountain on Hwy 91 until it hits Hwy 24, and then along Hwy 24 from Minturn to Twin Lakes. Visitors can identify the highway by the Columbine flower seen on sign posts.
